Yesterday, my grandmother passed away. There are no words to describe the type of woman she was. She was literally one of a kind.

There are few people in my life that have this special place in my heart…mamaw has always been someone that I do not know life without. She has always been there. I remember spending the night at her house and waking up in the morning with my cousins to find mamaw praying in her closet. We would always run off giggling, not even realizing she was probably praying for us.
She has taught me more than I can express, loved me more than I am worth and prayed for me more than I can ever imagine. As much as I wanted her see her one last time, I wouldn’t want her to be on this earth one more second if it meant she got to see papaw again.

Yesterday my little girl demanded to have a granola bar. As I finally walked over to hear to open up the box, I noticed it was a cake mix, not granola bars. Since I am overly pregnant and can’t travel back to Louisiana for the funeral, I decided we HAD to make my mamaw’s famous Sour Cream Pound cake. Because although we are so sad about her passing, she lived such a long beautiful life, it feels right to celebrate her!
